All Orange Elementary Schools Now Have Deputies on Campus, Sheriff Says

All of Orange County’s traditional public elementary schools now have an armed officer on campus, the sheriff announced this week.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office had struggled since the start of the school year to provide enough deputies at the 116 traditional public schools in unincorporated areas of the county that aren’t covered by other agencies. That meant some elementary schools were sharing one officer, though middle and high schools each had at least one deputy stationed on their campuses.
