Law enforcement in Daytona Beach is now using smartphones as electronic monitoring of juvenile offenders serving probation. Juveniles are able to use the smartphones to text, make phone calls, and use Wi-Fi; law enforcement is able to use the phones to set court-ordered appointments for the juveniles, check school schedules, and monitor the youth’s activities.
